Cover Tune Grab Bag – “Eye Of The Tiger”

July 31, 200890 Comments

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Words cannot express how thankful we are for your overwhelming response to Sam’s JDRF funny car design. Not only did you show up but you blew it out of the water. Sam raised the most money coming in at $6801. Even better, the whole contest raised over $84,000! UNREAL! Now remember Ford picks the winner out of the top five, so we have to wait and see. It was awesome to watch! Sam was barely in the top five and then, just like Rocky, he made a comeback!

So, as a reward for yall’s awesomeness, here is a new Cover Tune Grab Bag that seems quite fitting. Once again thank you so much and God bless!

hahaha i loved it! especially with the tiger with the wheel. Oh yeah, nice touch! i have an idea for another cover tune… just saying. you dont have to do it, just throwing it out there, but what about Can’t Touch This by MC Hammer? Or Play that funky music? Just some thoughts! You guys are amazing!

  2. Angie

Love the eye of the tiger, or is that now “tigger”? Saw you guys in The Woodlands last night. It was an awesome worship service. Bring the rain brought me to tears. My husband is a former military man who is now serving time in prison. That is an awesome video that really hit home for me. Thank you for being messengers of God. I won’t back down is my favorite song from my “BC” days. All I can say is THANKS!!!

  3. Albert

This was too FUNNY… Love dit!!!

I remember going to a Survivor show many, many, many moons ago and don’t remember them doing “Eye of the Tiger” anything like this. Your version is so much more entertaining!!! I was laughing so hard I woke my sleeping husband in the next room. Where on earth did you come up with an adult “Tigger” costume on such short notice? I can’t wait for my kids to see this CTGB tomorrow since they were both big “Pooh” fans when they were younger. Maybe they’ll know the significance of Tigger holding up the tire. Tigger (a/k/a Nate) looked like the very muscular “Michelin Man” from the TV commercials for Michelin tires.

My kids would love for you do “Footloose” so we could see more of that fancy footwork that you all entertain us with so well.

  5. I thought it couldn’t get any better than Hold Me Now, but it just did. That was awesome!!

Congrats, Sam! I hope your car wins.

  6. Albert

Okay; you are REAl good … I just saw all of the clips… they all made me laugh and I needed it. I really enjoyed your concert last night in Houston!!! God Bless you all

One request for a song – Unchain Melody

    Thanks :)

Now where is Jim and Robby? They are missing out.

Guys awesome acoustics and great dance moves Nate! :)

  9. Eye of the tire?

  10. Linda

How fun! My 9 year old daughter is still talking about the “awsome concert” you guys did @ The Woodlands. Your band is one of my family’s favorites, and what a blessing your music is.

My husband recommends “Sharp Dressed Man” by ZZ Top. I challenge you to perform “Check Yes or No” by George Strait!

  11. Libby

Thank you all for a FANTASTIC show in Arlington. You guy were absolutely wonderful and the show definitely touched me. I’m so glad you told us about this Cover Tune Grab Bag… these are great! How about that 80s or 90s song “walk the dinosaur”??

God bless you guys, and keep the music coming. Thank you for sharing your gifts with us.

I love these. My Hubby sends them to me when he gets to work. Then I post them on the mommy’s board! We all love them!
    Love the Tigger Tiger!

Have you done SHOUT? Or Manic Monday?

    Love them…keep them coming!

  13. Kelley

Hmmm….Walk the dinosaur and Manic Monday….how about a combination of the two….WALK LIKE AN EGYPTIAN…that would be interesting!!

  14. Libby

Ha! That’s even better! Walk Like An Egyptian! Great idea, Kelley!

  15. Kelley

Libby….I figure the baggie pants would work for both Walk Like an Egyptian and Can’t touch this…two fer one deal :-) ~

  16. Libby

LOL I’d just love to see the guys don those pants and PERFORM Walk Like and Egyptian…. :-)

  17. Once again…that was another beautiful rendition. The tire really brought the mood home.

Sam, you’re the man. I look forward to seeing your artwork (much hope) on the final car. Juvie ‘betics rock.

  18. joniandrick

We were hoping to see you at Winter Jam in Wichita, but instead had to wait for Heartfest at World’s of Fun. Truly enjoyed the evening of worship with you guys and have mightily enjoyed the website, which you did plug at Heartfest. My kids have requested some Bon Jovi for a CTGB – Conner thinks Dead or Alive. :) Or he said a Veggietales song like Cheeseburger (his favorite) – or maybe some Who Let The Dogs Out… ha. Keep ‘em coming – they’re a treat. Thanks.

  19. Erk

Awesome job guys, the tiger doing the handstand had me crackin up. You guys should think about doing Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” sometime soon. Just saw you guys at Heartfest at WOF in KC a couple weeks ago, really appreciated your message and how it wasn’t about a performance, it was truly worship. Thanks for everything!

  20. laurelinestel

  32. SlobberKing

Dudes, awesome job! Way to go Sam!! When do we get t-shirts…..

  33. Brian and Abby

Hey guys we just saw you at Faith Day in Cincinnati. My little girl Abby loves your music and we saw your Cover Grab Bag videos and they are hilarious. My little girl would like to request your next video to be Best Of Both Worlds by Hannah Montana. My wife thinks Nate will look great in a blonde wig in the background. God Bless and Keep rockin!!

  34. Charlie

I went to Faith Day at the Great American Ball Park and I just simply adorded you guys. I hope you guys keep doing Faith Day in (lovely) Cincy, OH
And on another note, Faith Day was the first time I had ever heard of your “Cover Tune Grab Bag”…and this is a big opprotunity for me to have fun. Can you please do “Rainbow Connection” by Kermit the Frog? That would be simply amazing. And Bart, you’re blog is not the stupidest blog in the world. It’s pretty much amazing.

  35. Angie

That is the funniest junk ever!!!

  36. Heather

Hey! I heard Bart on K-Love today (radio show). And I was thinking of cover-tune-grab bag songs that you all could do! I was thinking of “Don’t worry be happy,” and “I can see clearly now the rain is gone” I don’t know if those are actually the song titles for those but I am sure you know what I mean. I can just see you guys having lots of fun with those two songs! Have fun!

  37. The Honey Family

It’s about time you guys worked that door into your routine. Only, I always thought your wives should come in and make fun of you behind your backs! :)

  38. Damon

Please, please, please perform this (with Tigger) during your November 16th concert in Evansville, Indiana. I am bringing my daughter to the show for her 14th birthday. She is a reluctant fan, but admitted that seeing this cover tune grab bag favorite live would be nothing short of “awesome…”

    Think about it :)

    Thanks, Damon

  39. Blooboonet

  40. Jersey Kat
