I checked the JDRF page this morning and saw that Sam had won – CONGRATULATIONS SAM! How exciting. This is a dream come true I am sure. I am a HUGE drag racing fan, so it would be unreal to have this happen. Know that there are lots of people that are really pulling for your car this weekend!
I won’t get to be at Indy this year, but we’ll be watching for you on ESPN2! The complete broadcast schedule is on NHRA’s website ( http://www.nhra.com/ – over on the right) and you can bet they will show this car and Sam this weekend. They always pay attention to the special paint scheme cars.
Congratulations Sam!!! I wish I would have known that was going on today. This S.L.O.B. would have drove down to the Circle to see your car! My house is 5 miles away from the track. The Hackney family will be waving at you from our back deck. Way to go!
A couple of weeks ago, I happened to be watching drag racing on ESPN. When Bob Tasca came up to race the announcers said that JDRF in association with Ford would be giving his car a new paint job and that it had been designed by a 6 year old. I knew it was Sam then and was so excited for him. Congratulations, Sam.
That is sooooooooooooooo cool!!! Way to go Sam! I bet a lot more $ could be raised if the S.L.O.B.ers had a chance to buy those really cool shirts (hint hint)!
Sam, like many have said, I am SO proud of you! Your design is awesome, and it looks great on the car. I hope you and your family enjoy every minute of your time at the Races this weekend, and know that we are all thinking of you!
I just think this is so awesome. I am so glad that Sam won. I can’t imagine how excited he is. And, like you said Bart- even down to the crayon strokes. Wow. Awesome paint job! Way to go, Sam! He is a great artist. Right on.
Thanks for showing the whole car – my 8 year old will be so excited. Congrats again Sam! What memories you will have of this and an amazing story to tell your kids and grandkids someday. ) Fun, fun day!
That is an awesome car, and I think the crayon strokes are the neatest part! I love kids art work, and to have it on a car is so cool. Congrats again, Sam!
Okay….that brought me to tears. How proud and grateful you must be, Bart.
For a child to see his dream come to fruition in such a wonderful way and to help others at the same time, could be life changing for Sam. Congrats to all of you.
Hey, Bart, I ran into you and Sam yesterday in Indy at Chick-fil-A. It was AWESOME to be able to congratulate your son in person! Thank you so much for wishing me a happy birthday and for taking a picture with me. I would love to submit it to “Your Pics” on this blog, but how do I do it?
Thanks again and another congratulations to Sam!!!

I forgot to ask do you get to ride in it? I hope so. Take lots of pictures for us.
