Gotcha’ Day

September 30, 200820 Comments

So 2 years ago on Sunday, was the day that Abby and I officially became Millie’s parents. In the adoption world, it’s known as our ‘Gotcha Day’. Since I was in Huntsville, Al. for this glorious event, we decided to celebrate today. How do we celebrate ‘Gotcha Day’, you ask??? With donuts!!!!!!!!!!

“Gotcha’ Day”

  1. Happy Gotcha Day!!! My Gotcha Day is July 1st and it always meant so much to me to celebrate – even though I’m 34 now, I still celebrate!

  2. that is so awesome! Almost brought me to tears. I would love to adopt one day if I ever get married…I’ve wanted to since I was a kid!

Happy Gotcha’ Day! There’s no better way to celebrate than with donuts. Especially the ones with chocolate on top! She is beautiful!

    Mercyme,
I just wanted to share with you this…
I hooked my laptop to the tv the other night and my wife and I were watching some cover tune grab bags. We got to the DC talk one “jesus is alright” and my son, Kolton (8 months old) was jumping up and down in his play crib and sreaming and laughing with pure joy. lol. He was doing these really deep belly laughs that made the drywall shake. Man, I wish I got it on film so bad so i could show you guys. It was hilarious.
Especially when Bart was dancing in the background and we were laughing, it made him laugh and jump even harder. He couldn’t hardly contain himself. lol. He was actually hoarse for awhile after it.
Not very many joys that can equate to having a baby.

  6. What a great way to celebrate a Happy Gotcha’ Day!!

    Love the pretty pink fingernails.

  8. We recently celebrated our one year “gotcha day” with Jocelyn. It was awesome, exciting and totally emotional. We celebrated our day with Chinese food (of course). There is nothing like being blessed by these beautiful little ones!!

  10. Cassandra, a SLOB

Happy Gotcha Day, Millie (and family)!

awwwwwwww!!!! my friend Eva was adopted, but they call it her “family day” i think. Millie is an abolutely adorible little girl. You are so blessed to have her. I love your videos of her singing and dancing. They’re almost as good as Bart’s ‘Charlie’ videos! As a musician (…in training) i can totaly relate to the whole singing-and-dancing-for-the-camera thing.
    Happy Gotcha day Millie!

  12. Brenda

Happy “Gotcha Day” Millie and the whole family!!

    GOD BLESS :)

  14. So cool! Congratulations. What a fun celebration.

  15. hey mike,
my wife & i are finally experiencing what you guys went through. August was born this thursday & we got to take him home last night. It’s been an awesome two days. It’s amazing how much you can love a baby…even if it isn’t biologically yours. My heart knows no difference.

  16. That’s awesome Steven….Congrats!!!!!

Happy Belated Gotcha Day!!! God has put adoption on my heart, so I am overjoyed for you and your family. Congratulations to the Bush family, too!

  18. Adoption is so beautiful.

When my son was four he asked me if I could have a baby in my belly. I told him that I wasn’t married anymore and it wouldn’t make God happy if I had a baby in my belly without being married. After that he started praying for a baby sister.

He prayed without ceasing for four years. When he was eight, God blessed us with Abigail through adoption. She is four now.

    Millie is beautiful, God Bless.
