Before And After - “I Know”

This week’s installment of “Before and After” is a song called “I Know” off of the album “All That is Within Me.”

Whenever we start writing a song, it usually has some strange title that only the band would understand, until I finally write lyrics and the real title comes about. This song was called “WB pop song” for quite some time. So let me explain the process of giving a demo its name. It goes something like this: “Hey that song sounds like one of those songs you hear on one of those teenage WB tv shows.” Hence the name “WB pop song.” Also notice I am still mumbling like I always do.

Enjoy

Its really interesting to hear how you all put songs together.

My son writes music but he does not do lyrics. I told him he should find someone to put lyrics to them. He wrote a beautiful song in memory of his best friend Kevin, who died from injuries he received in the tornado that hit Nashville in 1998. Its titled On Heavens Wing and I would love to hear lyrics added to it.

    Thanks for sharing with us!

well, I have to say I enjoyed the final version best. Something about the piano just adds that special touch to the song.

I like the before/after….ya’ll share so much with us…pretty cool.
